The restoration of the boat Assunta needed to be done because both ribs and planking wood were broken. During the restoration, the planking was not caulked anymore, but thanks to epoxy-based technologies it was possible to completely renew the planking and avoid subsequent continuous restoration revisions. The boat was originally built in 1925, in Cattolica, Patrignani shipyard.
Boat owner: family Marini
Renovator: De Cesari shipyard in Cervia
Assunta is currently in the port of Cervia. It all represents Adriatic seafaring and is part of the Heritage Harbour of Cervia. It is keeping traditional sailing techniques and joins the cultural association „Mariegola delle Romagne” that brings together all the traditional boats of this region. The main purpose of this association is to recover and restore the old workboats of North Adriatic and to create scheduled meetings for all boats in each port.
