ARCA ADRIATICA: Protection, promotion and touristic valorisation of Adriatic maritime heritage

"Protection, promotion and touristic valorisation of Adriatic maritime heritage" or shorten ARCA ADRIATICA project is part of the Priority axis 3 "Environment and Cultural Heritage" of the INTERREG V-A Italy-Croatia Programme. The project implementation officially started on the 1st of January 2019 and will last until the 31st of December 2021. The project ARCA ADRIATICA uses experiences acquired in successfully implemented EU projects Mala Barka (“Little Boat”) and Mala barka 2 (“Little Boat 2”) co-financed from the Programme INTERREG V-A Slovenia –Croatia.

The main aim of the project is the development of a common tourism product, based on the principles of social and ecological sustainability which, at the same time, valorises, preserves, protects, and promotes the rich maritime heritage of the border area. Within the area of the included partners, the project will maximally protect the existing material and intangible maritime heritage and systematically exploit it through a series of measures, in order to develop and revive a unique and recognizable common tourism product.

The ARCA ADRIATICA project is funded by the European Commission from the European Regional Development Fund with 2.69 mln€ of a total project budget of 3.16 mln€. In total 10 partners from Croatia and Italy cooperate within the project.
