Lovran guc "Nono Šime", registration number OP 251 from Opatija, is 4.99 m long, 1.70 m wide, with a draught of 0.40 m. This boat was built in Lovran in 1969 by the famous Lovran shipbuilder Ivan Nino Gašparinić. Today she is owned by Tanja Kinkela from Opatija. Lovran guc is a boat of fine curved lines created in Lovran. The people of Lovran, but also the inhabitants of the Opatija Riviera and even Kvarner, call it guc (Lovran guc or "Lovranka"), although according to the typology she belongs to gajeta. This boat has a rounded bow, an oval stern and a high and beautifully executed extension of the stem, the so-called “nose”. The bow is decked up to 1/3 of the length of the boat, and at the stern she has a transverse thwart which continues into two longitudinal thwarts that connect at the stern. This boat has one mast and is rigged by the main Latin sail and has no jib. In history, these boats were used not only for fishing, but also for tourist trips between Opatija, Lovran and Mošćenička Draga. Today she is used for small fishing, leisure, promotion of the Kvarner maritime heritage and participation in events and regattas of traditional boats throughout the Adriatic.
