The Istrian pier is located in the westernmost part of the Rijeka passenger port. On the west side of the Istrian pierthere is the De Franceschipier. On the east side of the Istrian pier there is the Adamić pier. The pier is built of stone blocks and has the east and south coasts. The length of the eastern coast of the Istrian pier is 67 m, while the length of the southern coast is 79 m. Depths along the coast are approximately 6 m. Today, the waters in the pier area are used to moor luxury yachts and sailboats. The coastal ro-ro ramp was built on the southern coastal edge of the De Franceschi pier and is out of order. On the plateau near the pier there is a building used by the Rijeka Port Authority and the company Luka Rijeka d.d. On the east side of the building there is a bunker that has recently been converted into a catering facility.
