The Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka preserves the painting of the brique Ludmila and the barque Carmella by Bartol Ivanković from 1872, oil on canvas, PPMHP 100441. The painting shows typical sailing ships from the end of the 19th century. The sailing ship on the left has two masts and three jibs on the bowsprit. Other smaller sailing ships can be seen in the distance between the bows of the two sailing ships, and a steamer is running to the starboard quarter of the barque Carmella. The Carmella has three masts with unfurled spar and gaffsails. Smaller staysails are placed between the masts. The barque Carmella was built in Rijeka in 1868/69 for Carolina Mohovich, nee Dešković, and Giuseppe Verzenassi, who soon sold his 12 shares to Nadal Dešković. Following this sale, the ownership shares are as follows: Descovich Natale from Rijeka (12 shares) and Mohovich Carolina from Rijeka (12 shares). The tonnage of the boat Carmella was 552 rt and after the survey 449 rt, or 426 rt. The ship was run by the following masters: Vecerina Vincenzo from Draga, Vecerina Giuseppe from Draga and Polich Vincenzo from Kraljevica (Portore).
