The Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka keeps a painting of the Barque Capricorno, by an unknown author from 1883, oil on canvas, PPMHP 100057, 75 x 50 cm. The inscription reads Capt. P. Dujmich. The sailing ship Capricorno was built in 1883 in Rijeka, in the shipyard of Josip Bačić Belac in Pećine, as the last ocean-going sailing ship in Rijeka. The master of the boat – according to the publication Annuario marittimo, in 1889 – was Jakov Pezelj. The painting is dominated by the ship sailing the rough seas. The sea is greenish gray, with white shades of the sea foam. The ship has unfurled bow spar sails. Two spar sails are also unfurled on the mainmast, while the after mast has furled sails. The ship is equipped with boats and crew members can be seen on deck. Deck superstructures, such as hatches, crew rooms and the like, are clearly visible.
