The exhibition points to the event of the sinking of the Titanic, the importance of the steamer Carpathia as a ship that rescued shipwrecked people and the connection between Rijeka and New York at the beginning of the 20th century. Rijeka emerges as a large emigrant port of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy.
Opis
The exhibition was set up to mark the 100th anniversary of the greatest peacetime maritime tragedy in the history of navigation – the sinking of the steamship Titanic, but also pointed to the connection of the Titanic with the ship Carpathia, which first came to her assistance and on which a large part of the crew was from Croatia.
