The tool consists of a long wooden handle, at the end of which is a curved blade with the cut perpendicular to the axis of the handle (similar to a hoe). It was used to rough out structural elements such as the frames, the keel, the beams etc., thanks to the practice and sensitivity of the shipwright. The specimens preserved in the Arzanà collection refer to the first half of the 20th century. Dimensions: the largest specimen has a length (handle) of 52 cm and a blade of 22 x 4 cm.
