Ecomuseum Mošćenička Draga was founded in 2012 and has four separate components: Fishing and maritime heritage of Mošćenička Draga, Historical and mythical trails Trebišća – Perun with eco-ethno village Trebišća, Mošćenice – a living historic town and Brseč – a town on the cliffs. Since 2016, the Ecomuseum Mošćenička Draga has had an Interpretation Center for Fisheries and Maritime Heritage House of the Sea, located above the quay and spreading over two floors of a building located within the protected area of the old center of Mošćenička Draga. The interpretation center was realized through the EU project Mala barka. The Ecomuseum Mošćenička Draga organizes a number of events (the most important being the Festival and regatta of traditional sailing boats, which has been organized since 2009) and workshops of traditional skills related to fisheries, maritime and shipbuilding, which significantly contributes to the preservation of intangible heritage and has a strong educational character for all age groups of both residents and visitors. Its members participate in projects and promote the idea of preserving and revitalizing maritime heritage at similar events throughout Croatia, but also abroad. Efforts to preserve the maritime heritage have been recognized at the local and regional level: the Ecomuseum Mošćenička Draga/House of the Sea has been accepted into the regular membership of the Association of Mediterranean Maritime Museums (AMMM), it received the SKAL International Sustainable Tourism Award 2016 and the award by the Kvarner Tourist Board for preservation and revitalization of the maritime heritage of Kvarner.
