The exhibition NAVAL ACADEMY IN RIJEKA is an exhibition about the Naval Academy and maritime education in Rijeka, Bakar and Mali Lošinj set up in the City Museum of Rijeka in 2013. Previously, the Museum, in cooperation with the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Rijeka, published the publication Naval Academy in Rijeka (2011) and later the monograph Naval Academy – Naval Education in Rijeka and Pula (2019) was published, in which several authors collaborated (William Klinger, Ana Alebić, Gerhard Dienes, Dieter Winkler, Bruno Dobrić). The Naval Academy (k.u.k. Marine-Akademie) moved to Rijeka in 1857, then was relocated the following year, but it operated permanently in Rijeka from 1866 to 1914. The exhibition presents the educational and maritime aspects, as well as experimental physical research by professors of the Academy. In addition to the Academy, civil maritime schools in Rijeka, Bakar and Mali Lošinj were also presented.
