The Lovran guc, registration number OP 551 from Ičići is 5.55 m long, 1.85 m wide, with a draught of 0.55 m. This boat was built in Lovran in 1964 by the famous Lovran shipbuilder Ivan Nino Gašparinić. Today she is owned by Boris Abram from Lovran. Lovran guc is a boat of fine curved lines created in Lovran. The people of Lovran, but also the inhabitants of the Opatija Riviera and even Kvarner, call her guc (Lovran guc or "Lovranka"), although according to the typology she belongs to gajeta. This boat has a rounded bow and oval stern, and a high and beautifully executed extension of the stem, the so-called “nose”. The bow is decked up to 1/3 of the length of the boat, and at the stern it has a transverse thwart which continues into two longitudinal thwarts that connect at the stern. Lovran guc OP 551 has one mast and is rigged with the main Latin sail and a jib. In history, these boats were used not only for fishing, but also for tourist trips between Opatija, Lovran and Mošćenička Draga. Today she is used for sport fishing, promotion of the maritime heritage of Kvarner and participation in events and regattas of traditional boats throughout the Adriatic.
