The Kvarner guc, registration number MD 356 from Mošćenička Draga, is 4.85 m long, 1.45 m wide, with a draught of 0.25 m. This boat was built in Lovran in 1955 by the famous Lovran shipbuilder Ivan Nino Gasparinić. Today she is owned by Mladen Banovac from Mošćenička Draga. Kvarner guc has the bow and stern lines less sharp than the classic guc, she has mild lines and a round bottom with two posts almost perpendicular to the waterline. This boat was built in a completely open type without a deck, so her hull is fastened by longitudinal and transverse thwarts. The boat has one mast and is rigged with the main mainsail and a jib. Kvarner guc boats were most often used for fishing, transporting fish, various other cargoes and people, and later for sport sailing. Kvarner guc boats are the most numerous and to this day the best preserved on the Liburnian coast of Kvarner. Today she is used in festivals and regattas of traditional sailing boats and is used for fishing and leisure.
