As part of the celebration of the International Museum Day, a permanent maritime exhibition of the Kvarner Sails was opened on the second floor in 2011. The aim was to show the history of navigation through exhibited navigation instruments, types of ocean-going and small coastal sailing ships, the development of steam shipping and shipbuilding, and the development of seafaring and shipping in Rijeka and the Croatian Littoral from the beginning of the 17th to the end of the 20th century.
Opis
The permanent exhibition is divided into three rooms. It is located on the second floor of the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka. It consists of three large units, the history of navigation, seafaring in Rijeka and the Croatian Littoral in the sailing ship period until the early 20th century, and shipping and shipbuilding in Rijeka and the Croatian Littoral during the 20th century, through a presentation of large ocean-going shipping companies.
