The Lovran Lantina section was established in 2009 as part of the Association "Our Lovran – Lovrana nostra", with the aim of researching, promoting and preserving cultural heritage in the Municipality of Lovran. The Lovran Lantina section works with the aim of preserving, promoting and developing the traditional shipbuilding activity in the construction of wooden vessels, which has a long tradition in Lovran. The Lovran Lantina section is a member of the Coordination of Associations for the Preservation and Revitalization of the Maritime, Fisheries and Shipbuilding Heritage of Kvarner and Istria (Traditional Sails of Kvarner and Istria). Lovran Lantina has been organizing the Regatta of traditional sailing boats "Nino Gasparinic" since 2010. In addition to sailing on traditional boats, education for the youngest is organized through workshops of traditional maritime skills. Members of the Lovran Lantina participate in almost all regattas of traditional sailing boats in Kvarner and Istria and often in those at the international level. The fleet of traditional boats from Lovran that participate in these traditional events is the largest in the northern Adriatic. Members of the Lovran Lantina also participate in the implementation of EU projects (Mala Barka 2 and Arca Adriatica). The section operates in the space of the former shipbuilding workshop of Nino Gašparinić, later Gianfranco Sirotnjak.
