The Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary is located in the village of Kraj, 3 km from Mošćenička Draga towards Lovran. Today the oldest part of the church is the chapel of St. Joseph located on the left side. There is an altar with a marble stone from the 18th century; the upper part of the altar is old and wooden with Gothic-Renaissance elements. Later extension of the church in the north-south direction encompassed the chapel of St. Joseph within the entire church corps. Today's main (but smaller) altar is dedicated to the Mother of God, after whom the church is named today. The altar is made of marble and contains a sculpture of the Mother of God holding the baby Jesus in her arms. The sculpture is made of wood and has elements of Gothic expression. According to the floor plan, this is a single-nave church with a three-sided apse, a side chapel and a sacristy along the left side wall. A porch was erected in front of the main façade; its wooden structure is supported by six pillars and two pillars, while on the outside it is covered with a three-pitched roof. On the façade next to the main entrance, there are two smaller window panes on the left and right and above the entrance there is a thermal window and a transept with two bell openings. On the inside, right next to the entrance, there is a choir, separated from the main space by two pillars. The chapel of St. Joseph is located on the left side of the church on a lower level, so it is connected to the church body by stairs. To the right of the chapel there is the sacristy, which has recently been added to the church body. The walls and roof supports that enclose the space are made of gray limestone. The church was built on irregular terrain, so the volume of the church was incorporated into the surrounding area in a way that respected the configuration of the ground. In this church, in addition to other religious paintings, there is also a collection of 11 votive paintings on maritime topics with which sailors thanked the Mother of God and other saints for their salvation in difficult times at sea.
