The wholesale fish market building was built in 1929 next to the dock where until then the fish was sold outdoors. It was actually a simple canopy, open on three sides, and protected with gates. In the 1950s a new and larger fish market was built and the building used for other uses, until it was used by the Municipality of Cesenatico as the site of a new art gallery dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci. It has recently been completely renovated, restoring its original appearance.
