The Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka keeps a painting of the barque Irene by Antonio Francesco Luppis from 1880, watercolor, PPMHP 100425. She has spar sails unfurled on the foremast, connected to the bowsprit with a staysail. Three sails are unfurled on the main mast. The sail at the top of the mast, as well as the lower one, is furled. At the tops of the masts sailors are seen furling sails. The figurehead dominates on the bow, and an anchor is tied to the side. The sailing ship Irene was built in Rijeka in 1874. The ship had 504 registered tons, and the owners were the Luppis brothers. The sailing shipwas mentioned under domestic shipowners until 1897. It was run for several years by the Captain Lorenzo Mohović from Mošćenice. In addition to Captain Mohović, the ship masters were also Arturo Duimich (Rijeka) and Felice Tomassich (Volosko), and then Matteo di Martino Pasquan (Podvežica). The ship has not appeared in the register since 1898.
