The Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka keeps a painting of Barque Nuova Silfide Fiume by an unknown author from 1850-1860, watercolor, PPMHP 102568. The Captain Giovanni Rossovich is mentioned on the painting. The Silfide sailing ship has three masts. Spar sails are developed on the foremast and main mast, and there is also a gaffsail on the after mast. The ship is flying the Austrian flag. The lower spar sail is unfurled on the main mast. A head sail is unfurled on the bowsprit. The first and second masts have a flag at the top. There is a boat at the stern of the ship. A steamer is sailing on the starboard side of the sailing ship. The ship was built in Rijeka in 1840. She was registered with a tonnage of 314 rt and a carrying capacity of 450 tons. In the beginning, when she was equipped as a polacre, she was called Euphrasia. She then changed her name to Nuova Silfide, and from 12 October 1864 she bore the name Narod. Then the ship was equipped as a brigantine. The new owners of the ship were Ivan Pezelj with ten shares (later 17) and Filomena Jakovčić with seven shares. The ship was run by the "principal" himself, as well as Luka Krtica and Kuzma Vranić Antonov. The ship was then sold and her name changed again. After thirty-five years of sailing, in 1875, the ship suffered a shipwreck near the port of Poti in the eastern part of the Black Sea.
