The "forcole" are particular oarlocks typical of Venetian boats, conceived for the "Venetian rowing", which takes place standing looking towards the bow. They are made from a single piece of walnut wood, but also cherry or pear, shaped in more or less complex shapes according to the type of boat and use. The most complex is the famous gondola forcola. Objects with harmonious shapes, of particular beauty, real functional sculptures. The Arzanà collection consists of 250 forcole, which can be traced back to different eras between the end of the 19th century and most of the 20th century.
