Copper or iron cauldron, inserted in a special stove, used to melt or heat the pitch (pégola) which was used to tar ropes in order to make them resistant to water; the pitch was therefore used in the caulking of hulls. The specimen of Arzanà collection, in iron, dates back to the first half of the 20th century. The masonry stove has been rebuilt, but the iron hatch is original. Dimensions: the cauldron has a diameter of 47 cm and a depth of 25 cm; the handles have a length of 15 cm and a height of 5 cm.
