The wooden vise works by means of two plates, one fixed and one movable. The mobile plate was going to tighten the object to be blocked against the fixed, thanks to the pressure exerted by a two-handed grip that the carpenter screwed on a large wooden screw, thus pushing the mobile plate towards the fixed one. The specimen preserved in Arzanà dates back to the first half of the twentieth century and comes from a workshop in Chioggia. Dimensions: total length of 75 cm and a height of 90 cm.
