The Coastal Radio Station (ORP Rijeka Radio) operates as part of Plovput, along with two other stations (ORP Split Radio and ORP Dubrovnik Radio) where the radio service takes place continuously (24/7/365) and which organizationally belong to the eponymous navigable areas; PP Rijeka, PP Split and PP Dubrovnik. The VHF and VHF DSC radio service is organized through all three coastal radio stations. Although the NAVTEX service is organized in such a way that all three coastal radio stations participate in the preparation and broadcasting of NAVTEX messages, the official Navtex station through which all NAVTEX messages are broadcast is ORP Split Radio, which also houses the Centre for Alarms form Objects for Maritime Signalling. The activities of the maritime radio service include: constant vigilance on the frequencies for distress and safety of navigation (VHF Ch 16 and VHF DSC Ch 70) for the purpose of protection of human lives at sea, in accordance with the International Radio Regulations; mediation in communication in distress, urgency and safety interventions coordinated by the national Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) in Rijeka, in accordance with the National Plan for Search and Rescue of Human Lives at Sea; mediation in communication in seeking medical advice from ships; broadcasting maritime safety information (MSI) via VHF and Navtex systems; commercial radio service with ships, in accordance with the International Regulations on Telecommunications, which is performed through the VHF system, and the provision of radio services to state administration bodies (Search and Rescue Centre, Harbour Master's Office, Ministry of Interior, Croatian Navy, Ministries ...)
