This big saw consists of a rigid wooden frame, in the center of which the iron blade is stretched lengthwise. It was used vertically by two professionals sawyers (called "segantìni" in Italian), to make very long and tiring cuts. The beam, from which the planks were obtained, was raised obliquely on a high trestle and the two sawyers worked vertically, one from above, standing on the beam, and one from below, on the ground, so as to exploit in the blade descent phase also the force generated by the weight of the latter. The cuts made with this large saw could have taken days. Dimensions: length 124 cm, width 63 cm, thickness 6 cm. Dating: first half of the 20th century.
