The Srednja Vrata is a sea passage between the island of Cres on the west side and the island of Krk on the east side. Srednja Vrata connects the area of Kvarnerić with the Bay of Rijeka. In the area of SrednjaVrata there is the island of Plavnik, which divides the southern part of SrednjaVrata into two smaller passages. The western passage of Krušija, with safe depths and without underwater dangers, passes between the islands Plavnik and Cres. The eastern passage between Plavnik and Krk has several shoals, so larger ships pass through the Krušija channel. The entrance to the passage Srednja Vrata is marked by naval lights on the north and south sides.
