Guc is a three-to-eight meters long boat that has fed generations, with pointed lines at stem and stern posts. Smaller boats have fully open hulls with a small deck on the bow itself while larger guc boats are partially decked. Guc boats were originally powered by oars, then by sails, and finally by inboard or outboard engines. Guc is present in all parts of the Mediterranean, including the northern Adriatic, where she has acquired local characteristics. She was used for fishing, for transporting people and cargo, and later for sport sailing.
